Hybrid cars

It all started in the year 1997 when automotive behemoth Toyota introduced the Prius in Japan. It was the first full-hybrid car to be mass-produced. It uses batteries to power itself (though it can also use gasoline if required) and advanced on-board electronics ensure maximum efficiency with minimum power input. The Prius is officially the most fuel-efficient car in the US market, as recognized by the EPA. It comes second in the UK. With soaring fuel prices, demand for the Prius skyrocketed. Toyota also has plans for introducing the Prius in many developing nation-markets.
